About Coronavirus

The Spring Festival in 2020 is inharmonious. Everyone seems to pay attention to the same questions, “Where did you buy your mask?” “When will this pneumonia epidemic go to an end?”

 

 

The virus is the new coronavirus 2019-nCoV, and the source of infection is pneumonia patients being infected by the new coronavirus. The transmission route is through respiratory droplets, contact transmission, and the possibility of fecal-oral transmission. The population is generally susceptible, especially the condition of the elderly and patients with underlying diseases will be more severe if they are infected. Children, infants and toddlers are also susceptible. The incubation period is generally 3-7 days, and the longest does not exceed 14 days. It is infectious during the incubation period. The host is a wild animal, possibly a Rhinolophus sinicus.

 

TCM Prescriptions against Covid-19

 

For this new type of coronavirus-infected pneumonia, a number of TCM hospitals throughout China have formulated some preventive prescriptions which take regional characteristics into account for reference.

 

 

Former Dean of Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, 王莒生Wángjǔshēng, a well-known TCM practitioner in China, recommended prescriptions: Astragalus membranaceus, Root Glehnia littoralis, Lithospermum erythrorhizon, Indigowoad Root, Atractylodes lancea, Forsythia suspensa, 10 grams each, one dose per day for 7 days.

 

You can use a pot, cook it for half an hour and drink it as tea. Tea can be served for the whole family.

 

 

Key Subjects of State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Leader of Respiratory Infection,姜良铎 Jiāngliángduó, Professor of Dongzhimen Hospital, Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, recommended prescriptions: Raw Astragalus membranaceus 9g, Root Glehnia littoralis 9g, Anemarrhena asphodeloides 9g, Forsythia suspensa 12g, Atractylodes lancea 9g, Radix Platycodonis 6g, decoction, one dose per day, take it equally in the morning and evening.

 

 

齐文升 Qíwénshēng, head of the emergency department of Guang’anmen Hospital, China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, recommended prescriptions:  Folium Mori 1g, Lalang Grass Rhizome 2g, Atractylodes lancea 3g, Honeysuckle Flower 2g, Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae 2g,

 

Soak in boiled water, 200ml each times, thrice a day, total intake volume is 600 ml per day. It can be taken with rock sugar.

 

 

李廷荃 Lǐtíngquán, Dean of the Affiliated Hospital of Shanxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, recommended prescriptions: Bupleurum chinense root 6g, Scutellaria baicalensis root 6g, Pinellia ternata rhizoma with alum-processing 6g, Panax ginseng root 3g, Raw ginseng 9g, Red dates 8g, Atractylodes lancea 6g, Rhizoma paridis 9g, ‎Divaricate Saposhnikovia Root 6g, Forsythia suspensa 6g, Root Glehnia littoralis 6g, Honeysuckle Flower 6g, Radix Glycyrrhizae 6g, decoction, one dose per day for 7 days, take it equally in the morning and evening.
